Once we got there, we went for a beer run and seriously stuffed our with 3 six-packs, a thirty block, and one handle of Jim Beam. The latter was Larry's brilliant idea. Then, we had the brilliant idea of drinking all day, skipping dinner, and then drinking some more at night with Larry, Kai, and their SB friends, Minhy, Pammy, and Zuley. A couple of games of flip cup, a few bodies passed out, and a drunk walk along beach ended night one.
The next day, the SB Kids (Larry, Kai, and Mihny) gave us a tour of downtown SB and we went wine-tasting. It was almost too much, but none of us complained because we got to taste 9 different wines for $10 and were able to take our tasting glasses back with us. After that, we walked along the beach and were skipping rocks till around the time the sun set.
Night two was more or less like night one except that we decided to make up our own versions of Kings' cup with shots of Jim Beam and Coke. That night was super fun because everybody was really into it and nobody passed out. We didn't end up knocking out till around 3 a.m. and went on a drunk expedition to the local JIB. Justin and I were disappointed because we didn't get a chance to draw on Larry, who despite being our drinking sponsor/host, was always the 1st to fall asleep. Oh yeah, earlier in the night we went to the Michael Jordan Flight School, his basketball camp for kids, hollered at MJ, and ran into this fella:
He isn't exactly Michael Jordan, but we weren't the slightest bit disappointed to take a picture with Chris Tucker. His girlfriend wasn't too bad looking either, according to Justin and Kai.Sunday, our last full day in SB we had some bomb-ass spareribs courtesy of Mr. Kai Cha himself. Everybody was eating them way faster than the grill could keep up with. We had hot links, chicken, and the spareribs all day long and played baseball in the streets. It seriously felt like a perfect summer day and I'm sure we all wish everybody could be there because I know I did.
Then, after we were done eating and playing, we chilled for a bit until heading off to the beach around midnight. I can't really tell you how nice it was walking alongside the beach on that clear night, so I'm hoping either Kai or Wendy will share those pictures. But it was seriously so nice and peaceful until these little bugs who live off the seaweed started jumping on us and wouldn't stop until we left the beach. At one point we were chasing a family of skunks too and one time Larry thought he saw the white tail of a skunk, only to discover it was some trash. After we were all done, we walked back to Kai's place bare-foot. Good times were had.
